Many industrial adsorptive separation processes are dealing with vapors and/or adsorption of components with very low concentrations. Many ongoing phenomena can only be observed and quantified in gas flow experiments. For low concentrations, Co-adsorption effects become highly important. The measurement of breakthrough curves allows to see displacement phenomena and to evaluate the technically usable sorption capacity under process-near conditions. The adsorption of water and organic vapors, as well as vapor mixtures and also the removal of CO₂ from air have been investigated with the dynaSorb BT among other examples.
